Overview

Powering Up LEV Performance.

Pollution, legislation and rising gas prices are leading drivers to look for alternatives to gas-powered vehicles, but existing LEV designs need a substantial boost in capabilities and performance to rev up consumer demand.

Smoother. Faster. Farther.

The NuVinci CVP delivers a totally unique riding experience. It’s far smoother than conventional fixed gear transmissions because it has no gears.

Instead, the NuVinci CVP uses a set of rotating spheres to transfer torque from the electric motor to the road. Tilting the spheres changes their contact diameters, permitting an infinite progression of speed ratios. Without the slips and jerks of rubber-belt CVTs or geared transmissions.

NuVinci technology allows the LEV’s motor to run more efficiently and reduces battery-sapping current spikes. This extends battery life and vehicle range while its infinite range of ratios dramatically improves overall performance. Coupled with an efficient motor, an intelligent shifter and motor controller, and an advanced battery, NuVinci technology provides the technical canvas to design an entirely new generation of high-performance LEVs. NuVinci technology… welcome to the fast lane!

Key benefits of NuVinci technology for Light Electric Vehicles include:
